💡 What is CCFRI?

The Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative (CCFRI) is a government program in British Columbia that helps reduce the cost of licensed child care for families—directly lowering your monthly daycare fees.

It's a part of BC’s larger “Affordable Child Care” plan, and it means that when your daycare participates in CCFRI, you’ll see a reduction in your out-of-pocket fees each month, with no extra paperwork required on your part.

If your provider is approved, the discount is applied automatically to your bill.

👶 How Much Can Families Save?

The amount depends on your child’s age and the type of care. As of now, CCFRI provides the following savings for full-time care (based on 2024-2025 rates):

Age Group	Monthly Savings (approx.)
Infant (under 18 months)	up to $900/month
Toddler (18–36 months)	up to $900/month
Preschool-age (3–5 years)	up to $545/month

These amounts are for group-based, licensed care. If your child attends part-time, the savings will be prorated accordingly.

🏡 Do I Need to Apply?

No! Unlike other programs like the Affordable Child Care Benefit (ACCB)—which is income-tested and requires an application—the CCFRI is applied directly through your child care provider if they’re part of the program.

Once your child is enrolled at an approved facility (like ours), the discount appears on your monthly invoice.

❓ Is CCFRI the same as the Affordable Child Care Benefit?

Not quite.

CCFRI is available to all families enrolled in participating daycares, regardless of income.

ACCB is a separate subsidy program that is income-based and requires an application.
